Our Facility and Capacity
PFZD BrakeShoe was established in 1990. Over 35 years, we have grown from a small regional supplier to one of the larger specialized brake shoe manufacturers in Hebei Province.

Raw Material Sourcing and Incoming Inspection
We source steel from certified mills in Hebei Province, with material certificates required for every batch. Our incoming inspection includes chemical composition verification, dimensional inspection, and surface quality inspection.
Friction lining material is sourced from certified friction compound manufacturers, with each batch accompanied by a material test certificate.
Shoe Fabrication: Forming and Welding
Press forming: The shoe table is formed from flat steel sheet using precision dies that produce the correct arc radius for the specific drum diameter.
Assembly welding: Components are assembled in dedicated fixtures during welding. We use MIG welding with qualified welding procedures. Weld quality is visually inspected on 100% of production.
CNC machining: Cam hole and anchor pin holes are machined to final diameter using CNC machining centers. We maintain tolerances of ±0.3mm on these critical features.
Heat Treatment
After fabrication, brake shoe bodies undergo heat treatment to:
- ▸Stress relieve residual stresses from forming and welding
- ▸Normalize the steel microstructure for consistent mechanical properties
- ▸Prepare the shoe table surface for optimal lining adhesion
Temperature, time, and cooling rate are controlled and recorded for each production batch.
Lining Application
Surface preparation: Shot-blasting to remove scale and create surface profile for adhesion.
Bonding under pressure: Lining is pressed against the shoe table under controlled pressure in a heated press. Temperature, pressure, and dwell time are all controlled parameters.
Bond strength testing: Sample shoes from each production batch undergo destructive bond strength testing.
Finishing and Final Inspection
Lining grinding: The lining outer surface is ground to the correct arc radius for uniform drum contact.
100% dimensional final inspection: All critical dimensions are measured and recorded.
Weight verification: Consistent weight indicates consistent material usage.
Quality Management System
